Hi there this is for new information etc As it comes to hand, we will also update the relevant page as well…

The NZ Poetry Slam is back for 2012
With the National Final to be held in Wellington later this year @ Meow on Saturday November the 10th.

The winner will be flown to Sydney to be part of the Australian Poetry Slam as a guest performer and meet Slam Poets from all around Australia.
Also the top 3 at the National will represent Aotearoa/NZ at the 2nd Trans Tasman Poetry Slam to be held in 2013
At Easter this year the 1st one(Trans Tasman Poetry Slam) was held in Melbourne with Zane Scarborough of NZ been judged the best Australasian Slam Poet, over all after many poems and rounds it was a dead heat between NZ and Australia, that said NZ holds 2 of the 3 trophies…

This year we have had or are having heats in Thames, Hamilton, Nelson, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and all been well Palmerston North(tbc) watch for further information

Wow what a great night we had at the 1st NZ Poetry Slam, awesome audience, great styles and standards poets/performers, a variety of voices, and lots of heart.

Congratulations to our winner Brad McCormick, 2nd place getter Ali Jacs and 3rd Zane Scarborough.
Thanks not only to all the other finalists, but all that entered around the country, it was a frantic few weeks, but we did it, thanks to all of you from audience to judges, much thanks and appreciation…

    the first NZ Poetry Slam of 2012 was on July 27th in Thames . It went well and the winners will be in Hamilton for the Waikato round
